Dore Electrical Services Ltd was born in 2001 when Richard Dore decided to turn down an offer of a shareholding in the company he had been working for the 13 years previous.
Richard was never work shy, and his first job in the new company was the assembly and commissioning of the largest earth moving equipment in New Zealand, for L&M Mining Ltd at their Waikaka mine site.
The 460-ton Bucket Wheel Excavator and 110-ton transfer wagon were completely electric with an onboard 6.6Kv / 400V 2MVA transformer. The machine had been disassembled in Japan by others and shipped to the mine site in pieces.
All documentation and wiring diagrams were in Japanese only, however despite all the difficulty, the machine was assembled and commissioned within the six-week time frame that was given.
From this first job, Dore Electrical Services Ltd's reputation as a company that can be relied on to achieve required results in difficult situations was realized.
The company has forged relations with many customers in the last 18 years, by proving time and time again to be able to achieve results in sometimes difficult situations to customer requirements.
